Happy Halloween!

Oh Halloween. I heart you a lot. You have always been my favorite. Shhhh...don't tell Christmas and Easter. They are the jealous sort.

Casie's look:

*some people have been known to take this bacon hat thing too far...

I like breakfast for dinner. I also like fascinator hats. I have managed to combine the two with my clever costume of scrambled eggs and bacon. Get it? I scrambled up the word eggs! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Dress and belt: Target
Shoes- Walmart
Frying Pan- TJ Maxx
Bacon- doggie treat
Scrambled Eggs necklace- crafted by me

Tress' look:

How scary and fabulous is Tress today? Apparently when she went to Subway for lunch, they gave it to her for free!

Chelsea 2's look:

Can you say, "A Christmas Story"? Who's cute? It is Chelsea :)

Jillian's look:

"I have not a single item of orange apparel in my wardrobe, so I went with a purple and black ensemble including pointy boots and 'witchy' silver accessories. I will probably be a pirate tonight! Scarf: Banana Republic, necklace: Stella & Dot, sweater: H&M, pants: Gap, boots: Corso Como."

*All I could think of when I saw this outfit was Ms. Switch the witch. Do you guys remember that cartoon? It was one of the ABC Weekend Special shows where they would make books into cartoons.

Classic Movie Monster

And so, as we approach All Hallows Eve, we look back at those that have frightened before us and give them the respect they deserve....

Which also makes me think of this skit from Saturday Night Live. ;)

Casie's look:

I mean come on...The dude wears a blazer, comfy T, sensible pants and a heavy duty boot that are good for mucking around when you are being chased by angry villagers. What could be bad? I am also wearing metal earrings for rivets and a green pendant and green eyeshadow for, you know, the greeness.

blazer- Bennetton, thrifted
jeans and t- thrifted
boots and earrings- Target
necklace- from Mexico, gift

Kaitanya's look:

She be terminatin!

Chelsea 2's look:

"Frankenstein is a well-dressed dude with his professional jacket and black T, jeans and boots. He's quite the butterface ;). I chose to copy his style by dressing in my blazer, skinny jeans, and heels just to add some spooky flavor. Just because your a monster, doesn't mean you can't dress to impress!"

Kim's look:

"Happy Halloween weekend, everyone! Today I went with an INC top in black and white that reminds me of the Bride of Frankenstein's hair! Boo!!"

Chelsea's look:

"Warn the villagers!!! I went total classic with Frankenstein here...boxy jacket, square head (oh wait, that's every day), green, grey and black palette...I am workin it. I even wore little bolts! Green turtleneck sweater by Forever 21, B...lack Ted Baker jeans, Grey Nine West Boots, Black pin-stripe Banana blazer. Grrrrrrr, RRRRRRRR! Fire!!!! Fire!! will notice my pose from today is nearly identical to the day I dressed as the robot from Toy Story. I don't have many poses to offer. Sorry!"

Monday challenge: I get to dress up for Halloween on Monday. If you are allowed to, you dress up too, if not, your challenge is Halloween Inspiration. I am expecting a great deal of orange and black ;)

Georgia O'Keeffe

Nobody paints a prettier "V". We gals are a garden. I think it is interesting that we mostly went for Georgia's darker or more muted paintings. Maybe it is the darkness of Fall...

Kaitanya's look:

I love a tiered dress or skirt. It is so flirty. Like the sweet version of va va voom.

Casie's look:

I loved the grey and mustard colors in this painting. I know the jacket is a little space age, but come on, it is a silver bolero jacket. A girl's gotta whip that out sometimes. I like to think it represents the sterling silver jewelry of O'Keeffe's beloved Southwest. :)

dress and jacket- thrifted
shoes- Ebay
tights- Target
necklace- handmade and a gift

Tress' look:

"I was inspired by O'keefe's black abstraction. I wore my hair in a bun to honor her later years."

Chelsea 2's look:

This looks like something Georgia O'Keeffe might wear to me. Or at least something someone who likes Georgia O'Keeffe might wear. The sleeves on this shirt are A-MAZE-ING.

Kim's look:

"Santa Fe is a gorgeous place, and I loved the trip I took there many years ago (remind me sometime to tell you all the story of the "man with no pants"). Because of the beauty of Santa Fe, I was inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings during that time of her life. My Sweet Pea top replicates her shapes and colors of that time. Accompanied by silver Stella and Dot jewelry, and Marlowe blue cords."

Chelsea's look:

"Here's what I know about GOK...she's a very famous artist who likes to paint flowers that resemble other, um, things. She likes to be photographed with her hands in her face and she never looks very happy. So I incorporated most of this......I chose this particular painting because I love the color palette. I also wore my painter's coaty sweater (Old Navy). Grey pants are BCBG and violet drapey top by banana outlet. Slightly cynical, less than happy facial expression by me."

Friday challenge: Ok, it is almost Halloween, so we gotta get SPOOKY. Your challenge is...
