Katherine Hepburn

I recently read Katharine's autobiography, Me. It is kind of all over the place because it is written like a conversation. She introduces folks like you already know them. She goes back and forth in time. It is COMPELLING. This woman led a unique life. I remember seeing a clilp from an interview one time where the reporter asked Ms. Hepburn if she would wear a dress. She replied simply, "I'll wear one to your funeral." Classic.

BTW- my favorite Katharine Hepburn film is Desk Set. Hepburn and Tracy at their best. See it.

Casie's look:

Oh how I adore a wide legged pant. When you add a high waist to repel the muffin top, you had me at hello. I also find myself drawn to a high collar with interest. Katharine darling, you were ahead of your time...or maybe I should have been born in the past?

pants- Old Navy and from Ali
top- vintage, Ebay

Jillian's look:

A glamorous spin on the Katharine suit.

Chelsea 2's look:

Chelsea is also sporting Katharine's super chic pants styling.
Top (filled with gorgeous and not at all intimidating birds) from Forever 21 (100% silk), slacks vintage, sweater vintage and Earthies suede boots!
Deb's look:

"I wish I was skinny again. Haha! Katharine is beautiful!"
Dress and belt from an indie store in DTLA. $20 altogether.
(Casie says that $20 is winner, winner, chicken dinner)

Kim's look:

"When I think of Katharine Hepburn, I think classic pantsuit. What would we have done had she not helped make it socially acceptable for women to wear pants. Today I'm wearing a Tahari pantsuit, paired with an Ann Taylor scarf to represent the turtlenecks she always wore, and Coach booties. I tried to represent with a classic Hepburn aloof expression, but I think I look more mad than anything else!"
Friday challenge: Latin flair

  1. Very cool. This is my favorite one yet. I'm a huge fan of KH. A powerfully self posessed woman. I have to find someone to take pictures for me so I can play again :)
