Charles Dickens

Casie's look:

I decided to get into Dickens himself and see where his fashion is at. Check me out in my jacket and ascot.

jacket- thrifted
scarg- Ebay
pants- Simply Vera Wang, Kohl's

Kim's look:

Ninth grade English Lit with Mr. Korngold - a Tale of Two Cities. My outfit today features subtle stripes to represent the Bastille. And my Stella and Dit necklace and earrings are reminiscent of the spikes that the severed heads were put upon. Morbid aren't I!

Jilli's look:

My favorite Charles Dickens-inspired film is Scrooged starring Bill Murray. The ghost of Christmas present, played by Carol Kane, is hilarious! She beats up on Bill with a smile and a wand. So today my silver, gray, and pearl ensemble is in honor of her! Shirt INC, pants Gap, pearls Stella &Dot, shoes Matisse, wand by Disney.

Friday challenge: Tomorrow is a day off for Good Friday/Passover.

Farm Animal

Kim's look:
Like Jillian, I went with a horse - a palomino - as my inspiration. First, I love horses - they are so gorgeous. And secondly I had a partner in so I couldn't be too creative with my outfit! My necklace represents the bridle and reins, and while my hair isn't in a "pony" tail - it certainly is a mane!!!

Casie's look:

*blue silkie bantem and blue orpington chick e doos for the navy chicks on my shirt

Ok, I know you were all expecting me to go "baby goat", but I forgot I have this jazz hands fantastic chicken shirt and you just don't let a chicken shirt opportunity pass you by. The yellow shoes are my chicken feet. And yes, baby goats are still and forever will be my FAVORITE ANIMAL EVER.

Lisa's look:

boc, boc, boc

Jillian's look:
Giddy up horsey today. I am inspired by a brown horse with silver bridle and of course a pony tail.
Thursday challenge: Charles Dickens

Hunger Games

Casie's look:

I didn't wear this dress for a long time and now it has been twice recently (see Prince challenge). This is my representation of the blue dress that belonged to Katniss' mom. The one she wore to the reaping.

dress- thrifted
shoes- Ebay

Kim's look:

Katniss during the games - camoflaged in green and earth tones. I bought this top at a little boutique a while ago. The name of the store was "A Definite Maybe". Always loved the name of that store and they had the greatest clothing. Too bad rent increases forced them out of business.

Jilli's look:

Girl on fire? Today I am channeling Cinna's coal-inspired gown with glowing orange embers top and shades of coal grey skirt and tights. If you can see them, my earrings look like little bows (no arrows though).

Liza Minelli

Casie's look:

When I think of Liza I think of a list of things: sequins, Halston, Cabaret, jazz hands, the movie Arthur. Let me see if I can break this look down....the hat for cabaret, the shirt is (shock and awe) the only thing I could find in my closet with sequins (must remedy), also I thought the top (although clearly having two shoulders) looked a little like a Halston one shoulder dress. Unfortunately, I could not get away with garters and dance pants at work. Arthur is also woefully unrepresented. Perhaps I should make myself a Dudley Moore pin. hmmmm....

hat, jeans- thrifted
top- Target
shoes- Calvin Klein, DSW
jacket- gift from the MIL (I think she got it at Macy's)

Jilli's look:

When I think Liza Minelli, I think of a pose in a chair. I went with a mostly black outfit but couldn't mimic the iconic hairstyle!

Tuesday challenge: Hunger Games
