Ocean

Today's challenge was my choice and I picked Ocean. Obtuse? Yes. Is that more fun? Yes. Expect more obtusivity (may not be a word but it works here).

How is this outfit "oceany" you ask? See the print on the blouse?

That reminds me of sea anemone.

My necklace has pearls and some kind of stone that looks like sea glass and my bracelet has pearls.

And as for our darling Ali... Every wildly successful endeavor has a few bumps getting started. Today was to be Ali's first day participating in "the challenge". Fate intervened and she ended up spending the night at her friend's house after her fabuloso attendance at the taping of So You Think You Can Dance. Alas, she did not have her ocean fashion with her. We have, however, included her outfit anyway. It was high time she made an appearance. She will be raring to go on Monday, I am sure.

Nouveau Prairie

Ali issued me this challenge. She could not participate because she is awesome and at a taping of So You Think You Can Dance (which was not prairie appropriate). She will participate tomorrow. I am a big fan of boots with a dress. Perhaps it is the Texan in me. The boots I am wearing are my fake Frye boots. I LOVE them. I winced at the price when I purchased them. I think it was close to $50 which I almost NEVER pay for anything, but I am glad I bellied up and bought them. I wear them a lot. I love the necklace too. A precious owl pendant from Stella & Dot. Beware the shameless plug that is about to occur. Ali is a Stella & Dot stylist, so you will probably be seeing a lot of Stella & Dot on this blog. First Style Challenge- ANIMAL/BOLD

Well, me and the best friend have decided to start a style challenge blog. We will create style challenges for one another and post the results here. The best part. All you folks out there in blog land can suggest your own challenge ideas and we will do that too. Please post challenges in the comments. So exciting. I love a challenge. I love style. I love a game. We got to git AWESOME!

The first challenge (and inspiration for this blog) was presented to me by Ali (aka- the best friend). She suggested I work an ANIMAL/BOLD look. There were no particular parameters (to allow for maximum creativity). I call this look- Mickey Mouse with a statement necklace. No one said my animal couldn't be animated and this is my favorite bold necklace. Sorry, the hubz didn't get the shoes in the picture. They are black, pointy alligator pumps. What do you think?
